Question: My gums bleed when I brush, what does that mean?
Answer: It usually means that you may have some degree of gum disease. Gums that bleed when brushing or flossing are not in a healthy state. When you come to Emerson Dental Arts, we will make sure to check the health of your gums as well as your teeth. If your gums bleed, we can recommend
treatments that will get your gums healthy. For more information, please go to the Gum Health section of our website.
Question: I have a bad taste and odor in my mouth even though I brush and floss. Why?
Answer: This is hard to answer without seeing you first. But it may be due to several factors. It could be caused by a buildup of certain bacteria in your gums and on your tongue. It also could be caused by loose or ill-fitting dental work. When you visit our office we can ascertain the cause of the bad odor and taste and give you options to successfully treat it.
Question: I don't like X-rays, do I have to get them?
Answer: We are very conscious of the hazards of radiation. We do not like exposing our patients to unnecessary radiation. We have digital technology that reduces radiation exposure by 75%. We will only take the X-rays that we need to diagnose any potential problems that we cannot see visually. It will always be up to you to determine how many X-rays you will receive.
Question: How long will it take to get a smile makeover?
Answer: It depends on what kind of treatment you choose. If you are choosing porcelain veneers or crowns, most beautiful smiles can be achieved in 2 visits (2 weeks). During that time you will be wearing temporaries that are beautiful and comfortable. If you are choosing the Invisalign option, treatment times usually range from 6-12 months to achieve that beautiful smile.
Don’t let financial concerns prevent you from achieving your beautiful smile. We want to remove all anxieties and barriers that may prevent you from receiving the superior dental service that you deserve.
We accept all major credit cards, cash and personal checks, and give discounts for prepayment of services. If you need financing we have several options that are interest-free in flexible monthly payments.
